2026 – The Journey Continues – God has a Plan and Purpose for Our Lives – Part XIX
On Friday, I met with my movement neurologist, Dr. Julie Kurek, and she diagnosed my symptoms as parkinsonism’s, and may be reduced by dopamine as prescribed by Dr. Kurek. As it stands, I have three infusions of Keytruda and Oxipilatin, on hold as of now, as the dopamine seeks to reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s.

It’s depressing to me that now I have parkinson’s symptoms, in that I am limited in mobility, and the dopamine holds great promise, and I am inpatient in that I am dependent on others at the moment. I am bolstered by my prayer warriors, who incessantly invoke the name of Jesus, for a cure.
I had a need to go to SAMS yesterday, to pick up some Kleenex and paper towels, and with Ashley’s help I got me a power-chair and rode around in control. An alternative was to stay at home. Full of energy and resolved to tap that energy through the grace of God, and to obtain me a power-chair of my own, adds mobility and movement to me, and with a ramp taking to the house, completes the process.
Ashley asked if I wanted to go to the Catholic church despite my condition. I admitted that I felt embarrassed to go, but she quickly reminded me that there was no need for embarrassment — the church is for all of us. I must make arrangements to attend, regardless of my condition. The reflection is shorter today as I am transition to dependency on others, a novel idea, and home health/long term care is going to come here today with family present to map out a preliminary plan.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
